Sept 15 Update from our COO: Seasons Owen Sound Outbreak Declared Over

I have good news to share: The outbreak at Seasons Owen Sound has been declared over by the Grey-Bruce Health Unit. Our single resident case has recovered and there was no transmission to any other staff or
resident.

In a letter we received this weekend, Dr. Ian Arra, the Medical Officer of Health said, “This success speaks to the optimal collaboration and communication between the public health team and the facility’s management
team in the management of this outbreak. It also speaks to the robust measures promptly implemented and maintained by Seasons Retirement Home in Owen Sound, and to the expertise and vigilance of their staff.”

I would like to thank the team members at Seasons Owen Sound who demonstrated true dedication to our residents and for doing everything necessary to effectively minimize the spread. I would also like to thank our
residents and their families for their patience and cooperation.

Just a reminder that as per our Visitor Guide, visitors are required to provide and wear their own surgical masks for the duration of an indoor visit. Cloth masks are satisfactory for outdoor visits. As always, please reschedule your visit if you are feeling unwell and inform us immediately if you become unwell, after having been to our retirement community.

Residents, a reminder to please wear a mask indoors any time you are outside of your suite. You are free to leave the community at your discretion and will be health screened upon your return. We strongly encourage you to wear a mask for the duration of your absence from our building. If you are the passenger in a car, consider sitting on the passenger side, rear seat with a mask, and window open. As always, continue to practice good hand hygiene and physical distancing whenever possible.

The situation at Seasons Owen Sound, combined with growing provincial case counts in both Alberta and Ontario, reminds us that the threat of COVID-19 is real. Staff, residents, and visitors must all do their part to protect the collective safety of those who live and work at Seasons Owen Sound. Thank you all for your continued care and cooperation.

Sincerely,

LeighAnne Voll
Chief Operating Officer
