July 27 Update from our COO: Seasons Response to COVID-19
Last week marked the move from “restricted access” visits to “safe access” visits in our retirement communities. The goal is to provide residents with meaningful opportunities to connect with those who support them while protecting the health and safety of residents and staff.
While this is good progress towards a return to normalcy, there are inherent risks associated with allowing visitors into our residences, as well as the fact that residents are leaving our premises more frequently.
Seasons continues to follow guidelines as proposed by provincial health agencies and our sector regulators. Visits and the ability for residents to leave our communities will occur when the assessed risk of COVID-19 exposure is low, retirement community and resident directed risk tolerance is deemed high.
We ask all visitors to please refer to our Safe Visit Guide for Visitors and practice our health and safety protocols while in our residences or on our premises. Please visit the Company page of our website for a reminder on the types of visits permitted and the hours of operation. If you have specific questions or to book a visit, please contact your loved one’s specific Seasons community.
Thank you to our residents for wearing a mask whenever you are not in your suite. Just a reminder that reusable cloth masks are acceptable. If you have trouble procuring masks, please advise your General Manager.
Thank you to everyone for your ongoing commitment to keeping our retirement homes safe and healthy. Let us all stay vigilant and continue to keep COVID-19 out of our residences.
Sincerely,
LeighAnne Voll,
Chief Operating Officer
