2016 Seasons Celebrates Remarkable Residents Contest
In honour of Seniors Month, we are excited to announce that this Friday, June 10, we will launch the 2016 Remarkable Residents contest on Facebook! The purpose of our Remarkable Residents contest is to highlight the amazing accomplishments of Seasons residents and celebrate them.
So many Seasons residents have incredible stories to tell, but our three finalists truly embody the term ‘remarkable.’ Ivy was instrumental in preventing toxic waste from being stored next to the Welland Canal. She was a councilwoman for 23 years and championed the start of the South Niagara Rowing Club. The canal has since been the site of International Regattas as well as the 2015 Pan Am Games.
Lilo escaped hardship and brutal atrocities in WWII Germany. She and her husband risked everything to get married. They immigrated to Canada owning nothing and not knowing a single person here. Hard work and ambition led Lilo to create a better life for herself and her family.
Clyde served in the RCAF for 38 years and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer. Throughout his storied career, he endured grueling work conditions, risked his life on various missions and survived being struck by lightning while working on a Hercules engine.
The Seasons Celebrates Remarkable Residents program reminds us what our residents have accomplished: they are mothers, wives, fathers, husbands, professionals, service men and women, heroes, survivors, business owners, volunteers, community leaders and more. At Seasons, we believe it’s our privilege to provide our residents with exceptional care and service, every day.
Help us celebrate our amazing residents! Our contest runs from June 10 to 24, 2016. Please visit our Facebook page and view, share and like the trailer of the video you think should win: the person whose story gets the most combined actions will be crowned Seasons Remarkable Resident 2016 and will win one-month FREE rent! Full-length versions of these videos will be posted on Facebook and YouTube once we announce the winner.
