May 11 Update from our COO: Seasons High River Outbreak Declared Over
Hello everyone,
I have great news to share: as of 12:35 pm today, we were advised by Communicable Disease Control (CDC), under the authority of Alberta Health Services, that Seasons High River is no longer in outbreak status.
As you know we had 9 team members test positive for COVID-19, and have had zero resident cases. One team member is now considered “recovered” so we continue to have eight active staff cases. We have passed the requisite 14 days since the last onset case and all team members have been off work, recovering in isolation at home. This and the 170/170 negative resident cases mean our outbreak status can be lifted.
While it is reassuring to know that our residents are free of COVID-19 today, we must remain dedicated to keeping it that way. While we are working on plans to reintroduce normalcy to our operations, all Seasons Retirement Communities continue to practice suite-isolation right now, regardless of outbreak status. We believe this protocol is one of our best defences against the further spread of COVID-19 in our homes.
Thank you to all team members for your dedication and vigilance in keeping the virus away from our residents. You are truly our “Frontline Heroes” and we appreciate the important work you are doing to keep our residents, and one another, safe and healthy.
Thank you to our residents for cooperating with all of our heightened protocols. We know that life is very different for you right now, and I appreciate that you are all looking forward to things returning to normal as soon as possible.
Please continue to be patient with us, as I assure you, all decisions are being carefully considered with both our staff and residents’ health, safety and well-being in mind. We will continue to keep you updated.
Thank you for the trust you have placed in Seasons.
Sincerely,
